Kenya Cardiac Society Conference
Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death globally. In Kenya, estimates show that 25% of hospital admissions and 13% of deaths in Kenya are due to CVD.
It was a great pleasure to be part of the 40th Kenya Cardiac Society Annual Scientific Congress; Dawa Life Sciences aims to promote awareness about cardiovascular disease and treatment options. Members in attendance included cardiologists, physicians, nurses, clinical officers, and other allied health professionals from across all counties in Kenya and from both public and private health institutions. #BetterQualityLifeForAll
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a formidable health challenge, affecting millions worldwide. This silent threat encompasses a range of conditions, including coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, and high blood pressure. The prevalence of CVD is attributed to lifestyle choices, genetic factors, and underlying health conditions. Amidst these alarming statistics, it is crucial to raise awareness about the significance of heart health. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, stress management, and quitting smoking are pivotal steps in preventing CVD. Early detection through regular check-ups and embracing healthy habits can pave the way towards a healthier heart and a brighter future.
Together, let us take the reins of our cardiovascular health, as knowledge and action are the keys to conquer this preventable yet potentially life-threatening disease.
