Colistin-Sulphate
Therapeutic class: AntimicrobialGeneric name: Colistin Sulphate
Active ingredients: Colistin (as sulphate) 4,800,000 IU
Indications: Gastrointestinal infection in calves, sheep, goats, swine and poultry caused by micro-organisms susceptible to Colin e.g. Coli, Haemophilus and Salmonella.
Dosage and Administration. Give orally in drinking water and milk. Calves, sheep & goats: 1gm powder per 80kg bodyweight twice daily for 5-7 days. Medicated water or milk should be used immediately. Swine: 1gm powder per 4-8 litres of water or milk for 5-7 days or 1gm in 2-4kg of feed for 5-7 days. Poultry: 1gm powder per 4-8 litres of water for 5-7 days. Medicated water should be discarded after 24 hours.
